Here's some help about how you can use AreaFix to change your echomail areas.
You just have to write a message to 'AreaFix' and tell AreaFix what he has to
do for you.
Example:
Msg : 13 of 23 Uns Pvt Loc K/s
From : Tobias Burchhardt 2:2448/400 Wed 30 Jul 95 23:59
To : AreaFix 2:2448/4000
Subj : PASSWORD <- Your password
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
RA_UTIL <- Add (link) area
+DFUE.GER <- same
-SYSOPS.024 <- Remove (unlink) area
U.ENG.* <- Add all areas beginning with U.ENG.
-F.???.COMP.* <- Remove all areas that match this pattern
%RESCAN <- Rescan following area(s) and add if area(s)
is/are not linked yet
FASTECHO.GER
%DAYS 7 <- Rescan only messages not older than 7 days
SHAREWRE
%MSGS 100 <- Rescan at most 100 messages each area
FE_HELP
FDECHO, R <- Alternative way to rescan a single area
FDECHO.GER, R=300 <- Rescan up to 300 messages of that area
* <- Add all areas available for you
-* <- Remove all linked areas
%FROM 2:2448/48 <- Perform changes as if they were made by
the specified node (remote maintenance)
This must be given at the FIRST line in
a request message !
%QUERY <- Ask for your active areas
%INFO <- Ask for general information
%LIST <- List available areas
%UNLINKED <- List available areas to which
you are currently not linked
%AVAIL <- List all areas that are available at
this system's uplinks
%PAUSE <- If you go to holiday you can
stop receiving echomail for that
time without manually removing each
area with '-AREANAME'.
%RESUME <- Switch echomail receiving ON again.
%NOTE <- Leave comment to sysop (anything written
below is ignored!)
%COMPRESS LHA <- Change your packer eg. to LHA
%COMPRESS ? <- Send a list of available packers
%PWD password <- Change your AreaFix password
%PKTPWD password <- Change your ARCmail password
%HELP <- AreaFix will send you this help.
Instead of %QUERY, %INFO, %LIST, %UNLINKED, %AVAIL and %RESCAN, you can also
specify '-Q', '-I' , '-L', '-U', '-A' and '-R' as flags after the password.
Example: password -Q -L -A
